Tragedy & Strength of Character

I have been following the tragedy in China and Burma (or as the tyrants call it now, Myanmar). It led me to revisit the issue of how fragile, yet beautiful life is. We continue to have challenges all around us. There are those of us who don't even have something to eat, and yet somehow always are hopeful. What this little video, courtesy of Michael Josephson in Youtube, says it all: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-Lm_U9yEP0.

We have to remember and never forget!!!

Leadership....What a Difference!!!

Earlier today, China was hit with a massive earthquake. I saw the pictures on the BBC (source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/) and I was horrified. But, I was very very impressed by the reaction of the Chinese Leaders. The Chinese President called for an all-out effort and within two hours, the Prime Minister was on a plane to the stricken region to oversee relief efforts. This is quite remarkable and it is what leadership and responsbility entails. Here is a picture, courtesy of the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/ retrieved May 12, 2008). I was quite impressed!!!

St. Patrick's Day & Spring

Today was St. Patrick's Day. I wish that the luck of the Irish could rob off the rest of us, being concerned about the U.S. economy. There is no other choice for the Fed but to cut interest rates. The economy is on the brink of tipping into a recession, although many leading luminaries (such as Warren Buffet, Paul Craig Roberts & others) have already noted it as such. China is coming along and is the juggernaut along with India. Between those two countries, they are half the world. I am scared to death...and I don't know where it will end. As I have said before, the struggle does indeed continue. The party is over..that's for sure!!!
