Notations For the Week-End (II): On Politics, Climate Change & What We can Do

It is election eve in the United States.   It was timely as TED curated a series of talks to underscore a sense of faith that can be restarted in politics.   It was also a disturbing 24 hours as the IPCC came out with its' stark warning that time was running out for Mother Earth.    Will faith be restored in politics after November 4?   Will leaders have the wisdom to overcome petty differences for peace in the Middle East as Secretary Kerry goes back to the Middle East yet again?  Will the leaders embrace and realize the reality at hand so that we as humans won't have to deal with this: https://interstellar.withgoogle.com/?

Notations For the Week-End: On the Dawn of November 2014 (On #Africa, #Elections & #Hope)

Burkina Faso was the latest country consumed in the continued tragic twists and turns that Africa continues to face.     This underscores the challenge faced in Africa right now:

As this has ensued, there has been the continued Ebola epidemic that has raged on which has derailed the incremental progress Liberia has made since the end of the civil war and the murderous reign of Charles Taylor who is now langushing in Prison in the UK.  Ebola has reached US shores and the politicization of Ebola has been underscored with statements by the President and the dilemma of the nurse in Maine who has defied a voluntary quarantine order to the displeasure of Maine's Governor.   As the United States is entering the mid-term elections, what one hopes is that some semblance  of comity prevails so that the business of Government continues in lieu of some pressing deadlines that we here @ "Outsiders" commented on earlier. 

As we here @ Outsiders commend all who have stepped up to engage in the political process, we hope that all will remember these admonitions that +Jonathan Huie shared in his outreach to his community is ever so crucial so as to  make a solemn commitment to work together because the World will be watching as challenges abound ever more--we remain hopeful:
