Change...Can it be truly possible?

Barrack Obama is talking about change and how he is going to be different. He has gone after the President and Senator McCain by making sure that they understand that Patriotism is something that is not exclusive to the Conservatives. Although I was disappointed that he gave in to the corporate mass media criticism of wearing a flag pin, I still am waiting for him to totally and unequivocally repudiate all Presidential Signing Statements issued by George W. Bush so that a new era of transparency dawns so that the nightmare of the past 8 years is behind us. As I noted before, I am counting the hours until January 20, 2009 at 12:01 PM. Hopefully, it won't be President McCain...although he has promised he would be a different kind of President. But, George W. Bush promised us compassionate conservatism and look what it got us.

The struggle goes on.....

Changing Congress

I ran across a movement begun by Lawrence Lessig on changing Congress. To me, what he's begun is just as important as the overall malaise that the country faces. We are blessed with many competent public servants who have stepped up to do whatever that is necessary to insure that the economy and the country does not grind to a halt. But, this is a stop-gap measure. There needs to be more done...and Lawrence Lessig has started this movement....

Here is the link: http://lessig.org/blog/2008/03/change_congress_launched.html

I wish him much success.

We can't seem to get rid of Karl Rove...and why we need to change

As I have continued to think about the upcoming election, I continue to be worried about the misstatements, the arrogance and the absolute disregard for the law. This story I ran across below is another example of the absolute disregard being shown for us. I realize that when someone accepts a high office, it requires sacrifice. But, the commitment to serve must not be undermined by the total absolute disregard for us. If what I have noted below does not provide the impetus for change, I don't what does.

"A top Bush administration official in charge of
probing Karl Rove's White House Political Activities
is alleged to have improperly deleted all of the data
on his office PC by means of a seven-level wipe
conducted by a 1-800-905-GEEK technician.
Scott heads the office of Special Counsel, which is investigating
possible Hatch Act Violations by Karl Rove when the ex-deputy
White House chief of staff served in the Bush administration.
Bloch himself is under investigation by the U.S.
Office of Personnel Management, whose investigators
say Bloch "erased all the files on his office personal
computer late last year, " according to a Wall Street
Journal report last week."

The struggle continues....

Change & Transformation

Change is the only constant thing we have before us. Being able to somehow harness that power in a way that helps guide us in our lives, our business interests and our overall approach to life. Just reflecting upon how life and technology has changed over the last twelve months just blows one away.

I've thought through change and the comemnts by Paul Novak, ISM's CEO, is very much applicable to any thing in your life, as well as the business at hand..

" ...Absent a crisis that threatens the survival of the business, transformation takes far more than most people and companies think. Transformation in supply management has the highest likelihood for success when the company is transforming all functions in the company. Without senionr management's active participation in teh process not just tacit support, success is far less likely...."
