I was reflecting upon this admonition as the year is winding down. It is not easy advise for those in South Sudan who are in the midst of fighting, those in the Central African Republic who are the victims of attacks by rival militas and the children of Syria who are being lost to a useless and senseless war that seems to go on for ever. Yet, humans have endured--and should endure.
