South Africa and Zimbawe

I just fired off an e-mail to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Africa. Here is the text of the e-mail...hopefully, they'd at least read it....

I wanted to take this opportunity to express my utter dismay at the stance of your government and your state president towards Mr. Mugabe . First, Mr. Mugabe drives the White Farmers and goes against everything that the struggle against colonalism stood for. Second, Mugabe lines up his pockets and his cronies. Now, he's destroying towns in the name of "urban renewal". Either your State President is a fool or just does not want to antagonize a friend.

Maybe, we're idiots and don't understand Africa. Yet, it just seems to me that Mr. Mugabe needs to understand that blaming everyone else for his problems is not the answer. It is not leadership. It is just very sad that someone that epitomized the liberation struggle has forgotten his roots. Maybe, your State President will prevail upon him to change his mood. I would like you to remind your State President that it was the ANC that criticized the silent diplomacy during the Reagan Years that helped to perpetuate Apartheid--an inhumane, unjust system ever devised by humans.
