Al Jazeera

I have been listening to Al Jazeera. I can't stop listening to it...the information is straightforward, refreshing and frankly, reliable. My hat's off to the Emir of Qatar for what he's done in building such a wonderful jem for us all. The United States Government, though, is at it to tell the "truth". The various organs of the government are working to launch websites to tell the "truth" as they see it. I wonder if the President of the United States heard the plea of the 8-Year Old Boy in Baghdad when he talked about his Father who died. I can't understand the decision and really can't justify the rationale. Now, of course, Senator Clinton wanting to annihilate Iran upon a Iranian Nuclear attack on Israel is just beyond belief. Our political leaders just want to be tough. We have had eight years of a "tough" guy in the White House..and look at where we are. When will we wake up and deal with the real challenges? Just in case anyone forgot, oil hit $ 120/Barrel Monday...that's the real problem, not the side issues that deflects attention from the real challenges real people face.BTW, the Prime Minister of Israel, Ehut Olmert, is facing another investigation into corruption.

The latest twist in the Democratic Battle

Well, Senator Obama released his tax returns. Senator Clinton pledged to release her tax returns. As a Democrat, I am frankly frustrated and disappointed. The world is falling apart. Iraq is once again about to blow up in our faces. Four Thousand of our best and brightest have lost their lives. Four Thousand Brothers, sisters, fathers, husbands, wives, sons and daughters will not come back to their loved ones again. Yet, the leading Democratic Candidates fight over tax returns. If this farce continues, Senator McCain will most certainly win. And we will have more of the same. This has to stop NOW!!! Someone needs to get involved and bring this comical show to a conclusion. I wonder if that will happen, though!!!

The Democratic Nominee For President

Today, Barrack Obama won Missisisipi. Why is that critical? For one thing, it is because as Senator Obama puts it, "...it is another win in our column". Although I am a clintonista, I think Senator Clinton ought to start thinking about how she's going to be the unifier. The Democratic Party needs to begin the unification process now or else John McCain will drive a Mac Truck through the opening. There is nothing wrong with being graceful. She has carved herself out a very powerful position in the Senate with her work over the last seven years. Give Barrack Obama the chance to begin the process of building a team for the general election. I think this is even more so now, in light of the story I just read in CNN noting that Barrack Obama has won the Caucus in Texas and will end up with more delegates.

Although it is not over yet, I think the party elders need to step up and bring this process to closure. My party, the Democratic Party, is better for it simply because the Democratic Base is motivated and wants to win. We have to begin to come together now...for the sake of our country's future.
