Is Lord Acton's Admonition True?

As I read about the nomination of Judge Roberts to the Supreme Court and John Bolton for the UN, I wonder about Lord Acton's Admonition that "Power Corrupts and Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely". It appears that Mr. Bush's perception on the Presidency is to work with Congress when he wants to, pay lip service to the indepedence of the judiciary when it wants to and advance its' ideological agenda without any regard for anything.
I continue to be taken aback by the nomination of John Bolton. This is someone who just abhors the UN. How can he be someone who is supposed to create consesus? Of course, I should not be surprised. This Adminstration has never cared for building consesus. As long as you have power, you can whatever you want. As the FoxNews commentators are fond of reminding us, "...that's why there was an election.....". So true!!!
