Please Enjoy these courtesy of TED & The Great Bill Gates as we hope all "take the quiz":!!

My plan for climate change
By Bill Gates
My plan for fighting climate change
I am all for solar power and electric cars. But to stop climate change, we need to do more than alter the way we heat our homes and get around town.
Today I wrote a post on TGN that explains what that means and what I think it will take. And I have some news about an exciting partnership on energy innovation that I am helping launch in Brussels this week.
Read it on the Gates Notes
You also might have fun taking this short quiz on energy and climate. I took it and got 4 out of 5 questions right—so see if you can beat my score. Some of the answers might surprise you. To get you started, here’s an exclusive, Insiders-only hint to one of the questions: Cows.
Take the quiz

One other quick note: I’m going to launch my own weekly newsletter in the next couple of months. As a Gates Notes Insider, you’ll get a peek into what’s top of mind for me each week as I share the most interesting stories that cross my desk. It will be easy to unsubscribe if you’re not interested.

Kate Darling: Why we feel an emotional connection to robots

11:51 minutes · Filmed Sep 2018 · Posted Oct 2018 · TED Salon Samsung
Do you feel sorry when you watch a robot fall down or get mistreated? We shouldn't have human feelings about these inanimate things ... but more and more, we do, says robot ethicist Kate Darling. She shares some experiments that show how our natural sense of hard-wired empathy is triggered by machines -- and what these machines in turn can teach us about being human.

#RandomThoughts (Weekly Edition): Out & About in Our World

As the Week-End Looms, please enjoy these Random Thoughts as our team will continue to be assessing the case of Jamal Khashoogi and on-going challenges in our World as we welcome Turkey's order to release Pastor Bronson:

“A country is only as good – I don’t care now about the Constitution and the laws, at the moment let us leave these things aside – a country is only as strong as the people who make it up and the country turns into what the people want it to become. Now, this country is going to be transformed. It will not be transformed by an act of God, but by all of us, by you and me. I don’t believe any longer that we can afford to say that it is entirely out of our hands. We made the world we’re living in and we have to make it over.”  James Baldwin

On This Mid-Week here in our Properties, we hereby present #RandomThoughts in a different way with excerpts courtesy of the Team at CityLab, On Goldman Sachs along with the team at the Mission:
Moving on up: We know that where children grow up can affect their future opportunities. It can be a challenge, though, to find a place that offers access to upward mobility, and families have to weigh rent and income against the many factors that make up a good community. Now, a new project from economist Raj Chetty and the Census Bureau is mapping where economic prospects improve from one neighborhood to the next.

Using a new tool, the Opportunity Atlas, it’s possible to identify which Census tracts are “opportunity bargains,” affordable areas that offer a high chance of escaping poverty. Knowing that could offer a much better chance to help poor and minority kids get a better shot at moving up the economic ladder, either by showing where to move or how cities can improve. CityLab’s Tanvi Misra zoomed into Detroit on the map to see how this trove of data could help. Read about the neighborhoods that offer a ‘bargain’ on upward mobility.s Goodwin on Leadership: In Turbulent Times

Because you don’t get to read the entire story and evaluate the phrases in context, quotes are oftentimes open to significant interpretation. “Last year, one of the best books I read was ‘Originals’ by Adam Grant.
It’s rare that I revisit a non-fiction book, but this one was different. I sat down this year to revisit my highlights from the book. There are five life lessons I took away from the book that will help materially improve the life of every single entrepreneur.”
“Our brains are hardwired to make much of modern life difficult. This is especially true when it comes to dealing with uncertainty. On the bright side, if you know the right tricks
