Around Town in Our Community On National Prescription Takeback Day 2017....

October 28 (today) is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.   We received this courtesy of Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett that represents the 5th District that encompasses our hometown of Laguna Niguel at various locations throughout Orange County including Laguna Hill,  San Juan Capistrano  and Lake Forest City Halls. .  We wanted to report on this throughout our properties as we encourage all to participate: 
On Saturday, October 28, medications can be disposed of safely at various location throughout South County during National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. The service is safe, free, and anonymous. No questions asked, and no forms to fill out. No syringes, medical waste or hazardous waste allowed. See the flyer below for more information.

Impressions from a MOAS field visit 
On Tuesday 10th of October 2017, MOAS Co-Founder and Director Regina Catrambone arrived in Bangladesh on a field visit. The aim was to see the progress of MOAS’ humanitarian mission to provide aid and medical relief to the Rohingya refugees that have been arriving in huge numbers across the border from Myanmar since the 25th of August 2017. In this blog post, we bear witness to the conditions Regina found on her travels throughout Cox’s Bazar.

MOAS is honoured to be among the finalists for the International Maritime Rescue Federation’s H.E.R.O award, which is given to exceptional individuals and organisations from around the world who go above and beyond in maritime search and rescue (SAR). The nomination is in recognition of the tireless work of our search and rescue crew throughout Easter weekend during our 2017 Central Mediterranean Mission, which operated between April and August.
