Notations On Our World (Special Edition): How People Strive to Make a DIfference

It is a rainy day here in our HQ in Southern California as El Nino has come out "swinging" today.   We wanted to begin the new week in #Outsiders with this very perceptive analysis from the Fortune's Geoff Colvin which we view as vital which we will work to explore further in the #Outsider Vision Property over the ensuing weeks and months:

Fortune Power Sheet By Geoff Colvin.
Daily insights on leaders and leadership

Sometimes – oftentimes – leaders face no good alternatives. An excellent example of how they cope is Brian O’Keefe’s extraordinary portrait of the world cocoa trade, which I urge you to read. It’s more than just a revealing look at a business you may not have known you cared about; it’s also a case study of leaders who want to do some good in the world and learn how extremely difficult that can be.
Imagine that you’re Mars chief Grant Reid or Mondelez CEO Irene Rosenfeld or Nestlé CEO Paul Bulcke. Your company sold between $12.5 billion and $14.7 billion of chocolate candy last year, and most of the cocoa you need comes from West Africa. Some 2.1 million children there do the exhausting, dangerous, machete-wielding work of harvesting it. Some of them – no one knows how many, but thousands – are “forced labor,” meaning slaves. You obviously don’t want your company to be supporting any of this. But how do you stop it?
As Brian reports, the big chocolate makers long ago agreed, after some prodding, to eradicate the worst forms of child labor by mid-2005. They missed that deadline, which got pushed back to 2008, then 2010. They missed those too. Now the industry has pledged to reduce child labor in Ivory Coast and Ghana, the world’s largest cocoa producers, by 70% by 2020.
Why on earth can’t the leaders of the world’s biggest cocoa-buying firms influence their suppliers? Because cocoa isn’t produced by big agri-business companies with which the major buyers could negotiate. It’s produced by nearly two million cocoa-growing households in Ivory Coast and Ghana on tiny farms (average size: less than ten acres). Those farmers are desperately poor; the average cocoa farmer in Ghana made 84¢ a day in the 2013-14 growing season, and in Ivory Coast 50¢. Which means that while many children in the industry are forced labor, far more are not. As Brian explains, “Hundreds of thousands of children are used as free labor by their own families and often asked to take on dangerous tasks like harvesting with machetes or hauling 100-pound bags of beans.” If those farmers didn’t employ their children, their families would be even poorer.
Ivory Coast has laws forbidding forced labor and last year enacted a law requiring all children age 6 to 16 to go to school. But if you’re President Alassane Ouattara, a Ph.D. economist from the University of Pennsylvania and a former senior official at the IMF, how can you defy your constituents’ unforgiving financial reality?
The big cocoa buyers have realized they can reduce child labor only by changing the basic economics of cocoa farming, which they’re trying to do by helping the farmers be more productive. That’s a very long-term project. For now, those unfortunate children are surrounded by at least some leaders who want to do the right thing. But each can manage only part of the solution. Sona Ebai, former chief of the Alliance of Cocoa Producing Countries, observes that the problem will be solved only when all sectors of the society work on it together. “And there,” he tells Brian, “you really need leadership.”

Notations On our World (weekend edition part II): On Turkey, @Malaysia, @BRICS & #Zimbabwe

Turkish Police @ Zaman HQ

As our team just finished the latest on our #Americas watch, we have also been assessing our World over a very challenging 24 hours in our World which we will be assessing.

The first profound challenge we've been witness to has been the continued attack on Freedom of the Press in Turkey.    On orders of Istanbul Prosecutors, the Daily +Zaman Gazetesi was taken over by the police:

The world was witness to protesters being tear-gassed as the Police raided the offices.  It is part of a concerted effort by the Turkish Government to suppress decent under its' policy of fighting the separatist PKK since Mr. Edrogan abrogated the peace treaty with the Kurds.   It is an on-going developing story as we went to press.

Robert Mugabe with his Birthday cake
Beyond Turkey, we had been assessing another country of focus this week:  Zimbabwe.   The President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, turned 92:

Our team agreed with the characterization by the opposition party in Zimbabwe, the Movement for Democratic Change, that it was "obscene".   The cake was 92 Kilograms, 50 heads of Cattle were slaughtered and some 800,000 dollars was spent on the birthday celebration.    This is as the country continues to be suffering from a prolonged drought, civil servants cannot get paid and the estimated unemployment is around 80%.    Mr. Mugabe latest' antics was to nationalize the diamond mines--and his latest antics was to threaten a reporter by punching him to the ground for daring to suggest that he should retire.    We have also been assessing the latest out of Malaysia (a member of our "NASIIM" group we're studying) on the increased repression by the Malaysian Government as the corruption allegations against the Prime Minister continues to grow--there allegded corruption is now around 1.1 Billion Dollars.

One more focus for us has been @BRICS.      We have been assessing the student protests in India as we captured this by the NDTv's Barka Dutt:

This is also a developing story and his eloquence and bravery is quite remarkable.      This is a China is in the midst of the annual meeting of its' Parliament--The National People's Congress.   Most of the decisions have already been made--but what is remarkable is a tacit acknowledgement of what the Chinese Premier has said is the "New Normal"--a slowdown as cutbacks loom in State Enterprises and there seems to be a major overhaul of the top leadership in the country.     We are also continuing to assess how Brazil seems to be falling apart politically especially as former President Lula was detained especially as Rio 2016 is before us--and as Zika continues to take a profound toll on the Country.     South Africa is also in the midst of profound challenges as well as underscored by the protests against Jacob Zuma.

It is indeed quite a challenging World.......

Notations On Our World (WeekEnd Edition Part 1): On the latest on @GOP, @RealDonald Trump & Other Thoughts

As the United States was witness to Super Tuesday, Super Saturday was also held on Saturday March 5 2016 here in the United States.    Kansas, Maine, Kentucky, Nebraska along with Louisana voted in both Democratic and Republican Primaries.

Senator Cruz won Kansas and Maine and maintained some momentum on the delegate count.   Once again, Senator Rubio did not have a good night on all fronts as he apparently is betting on Florida as the Orlando Sentinel came out for him.   There was some analysis that said that Mitt Romney's speech somehow helped Senator Cruz as Senator Cruz underscored how he is fully prepared with his plan.   One interesting highlight of Senator Cruz' interview was his answer about nuclear accidents because his plans call for elimination of the Department of the Energy.   He said that such responsibilities will be transferred to other Federal Agencies as part of his quest to save 500 Billion Dollars.

The evening culminated with Mr. Trump holding an improtu news conference at one of his properties in Florida.   As he was being thankful to the people of Kentucky and Louisana, he continued with put downs for Senator Cruz by calling him a liar and by calling upon Marco Rubio to quit.   He called the Media the most dishonest people on the face of the planet and directly addressed the issue of Torture that he had called for and thereafter backtracked by noting that he would abide by the laws.  His rationale was   that #Daesh was not playing by the rules and as such Water Boarding and other illegal acts must be allowed to proceed.   He said he would "expand" the laws as some of the audience cheered him on.    He also talked about the Iran Deal and committed to getting to the bottom of the Levinson Case--who is still missing as he criticized the Iran Deal and how Iran got 100 Billion with nothing in return.

During the same news conference, he touted his very large event in Florida.    The +The Sydney Morning Herald   reported on it:

Echoes of fascism as Trump demands pledge at rally

'He's an insane bigot': Louis C.K. takes aim at Donald Trump.
12:52pm Analysis: As Florida rally reached a crescendo, Republican frontrunner told crowd to salute and vote for him "no matter what".

This is the view from the World on it.    In addition, someone asked about The Levinson Case.    He also touted the fact that he is self-funding his campaign.      What was interesting was how John Oliver de bunked the myth of Mr. Trump's comments that our team commented on.     Beyond the Media Put down and the comments at hand, what has been of concern is what Mr. Trump has said about people who have railed against him.      There have been reports that the Ricketts has been bankrolling an anti-Trump effort and Mr. Trump has said for them to "watch it".      He also had the same view towards The Speaker of the House earlier.

Challenging times indeed......

The Friday Musical Interlude: Shakatak Plays Invitation

Welcome to Friday here in #Outsiders with this selection we've chosen from our artist of the week: Shatakak &   invitation:

Notations On Our World: On #Americas Watch w/ @realDonaldTrump & Other Thoughts....

It has been quite a week on the political front as the Trump Juggernaut continues and the so-called establishment within the Republican Establishment has begun a concerted effort to derail Mr Trump.   As we have been assessing this week, we just saw a new position on torture by Mr. Trump as he notee that he would be now in favor of following the law on Torture.    Torture is  illegal in the United States.

This was just a sampling of the developments on the "anti-Trump" movement that was quite a spectacle to be witness to as reported by the Guardian of London:

As Mitt Romeny spoke, Trump hit back and hit back hard as reported by the Daily  Beast on the eve of the GOP Debate:

1. VULGAR
TRUMP: MITT WOULD’VE GOTTEN ON HIS KNEES FOR ME
Donald Trump responded to Mitt Romney’s speech Thursday during a rally in Maine, hitting the former Republican nominee by saying he would have gotten on his knees for the Trump endorsement back in 2012. “I am not a fan of Barack Obama and that was a race that I backed Mitt Romney, I backed him, you can see how loyal he is,” Trump said. “He was begging for my endorsement. I could have said, Mitt, drop to your knees, he would have dropped to his knees, he was begging. He was begging me.” At another point, he railed against Romney as a “choke artist” and said “chickened out” of running again in 2016.

Our team watched excerpts of the GOP debate as all tried to appeal to their constituecies  There are a number of very critical dates in the primary calendar that would determine the fate of Senator Rubio, Senator Cruz and Governor Kasich.     Governor Kasich noted as such when he said that the next batch of primaries are in his backyard as America and the World will continue to be subject to 4 months of intrigue and drama.

As the GOP has been in its' feud, the Democrats are also continuing their quest.  Based on the wins by Mrs. Clinton, our view is that the nomination is Mrs. Clinton's barring any unforseen circumstance--an indictment or any other development.   The granting of immunity to the State Department Staffer handling the Clinton Email Server is a sign that th FBI is trying to get things wrapped up as there are reports that some 100 staffers are working on the case.     One thing we've found of special interest has been the apparent drop in Democratic turnout as reported by both the New York Times and Washington Post recently.

We hope all are enjoying the show!!!

Notations From the Grid : On the aftermath of #SuperTuesday re: @realDonaldTrump

As we went to press, the dust is starting to settle down as Trump is on a roll.     Mr. Cruz has won Texas and Oklahoma and Mr. Rubio has won Minnesota.

However, the Media has begun actually begun to look at him closely.   John Oliver laid out the true realities about Donald Trump that the World needs to take note of:

This is as the Union Leader came out with this on Chris Christie as a number of leading New Jersey Papers are calling for his resignation as he has apparently spent 265 Days out of New Jersey:

This is as the counting in Alaska is still counting:

Truly interesting times.....

Notations On Our World: On @GOP; @RealDonaldTrump & Other Thoughts...

On Mr. Trump in the Economist of London: http://tinyurl.com/jsqavz9

The results are starting to come in from "Super Tuesday"--also known as the "SEC" states.   What is clear is that the nomination is Donald Trump's to lose as we went to press.      Whether the so-called Establishment wing of the Republican Party is able to somehow stop Mr. Trump remains to be seen.   So far, nothing seems to.   As for his main rivals, Senator Rubio and Senator Cruz, it will be interesting to see how they fare tonight and whether they would win anything or not.   How emerging leaders like Senator Sasse of Nebraska will respond (who noted he's not a Politician when he was on MSNBC's Morning Joe Earlier this morning) will also be interesting to observe.

As for the Democrats, our view is that it is Mrs. Clinton's to lose despie Senator Sanders' very impressive showing--including a decisive win in his home state of Vermont.    Our view is that not withstanding the strength of primary wins, the challenge is the general election

Truly interesting Times....

Notations On Our World: On This Super Tuesday 2016....

It is Super Tuesday and people have begun to vote.      As we assess the aftermath within the next few days, we thought this snapshot from +Jonathan Huie  that was quite timely on this major day:

Do you want to know who you are? Don't ask. Act!
Action will delineate and define you.
- Thomas Jefferson

All elections are important. While is is vitally important to choose between the final two candidates in November, it is at least equally important to select those two candidates. Primary elections get much less turnout, but they are the time we Americans truly define the kind of country in which we, and our children, and our children's children will live.

Bad politicians are sent to Washington by good people who don't vote.
- William E. Simon

Today, "Super Tuesday," is the day primary elections are held in many states. Whenever your primary election is being held, PLEASE VOTE!

If humanity does not opt for integrity, we are through completely.
It is absolutely touch and go.
Each one of us could make the difference.
- R. Buckminster Fuller

Voting is an expression of INTENT. Intent is a powerful energetic force.
Our INTENT for the future of our world is the greatest power we can ever control - use it wisely and fully.

CHOOSE your future, and take ACTION - be the hammer, not the nail. VOTE!!!

Voting is an expression of three key life principles -
CHOICE, INTENT, and ACTION.

Notations On Our World (Special Month-End Edition): On 2016 w/ @RealDonaldTrump, #Iran, #BRICS & Other Thoughts

It has been quite a week in our World as we bid farewell to a very challenging Feburary here in #Outsiders.  As our team continues its' assessment, we were pleased to see that the latest effort at a Syrian ceasefire seemed to be holding (with some minor violations).  Whether that is sustained is another matter as the Russians have noted that they would resume aerial bombardments of  #Daesh and #Al Nusra.

We have been assessing the results out of the pivotal Iranian Elections over the last 24 hours since the polls closed.   Polls were repeatedly extended to allow all who had been in line throughout the Country to vote.    The first results have been quite encouraging for the reformist faction.    The top two candidates for the Assembly of Experts (also referred to as Khobergan Rahbari) which supervises and elects the Supreme Leader (Supreme Guide) are Rafsanjani and Rouhani.    Rafsanjani, the Ex-President and consummate power broker  has garnered almost 700,000 votes.  The current President, Rouhani, has garnered almost 650,000 votes as well from the Constituency of Tehran.       It will be interesting to see the elections to this body in the aftermath of the elections.

We have also been assessing another potential pivotal development as the elections results in Iran continues to trickle in.     Tabassi, the leading power broker in Province of Khorassan, has been taken to hospital with a brain hemorrhage.     Tabbasi and his family have been the defacto "royal family" in Khorassan since the Revolution.   Under a decree issued by Khomeini, he took charge of the "Qods-E-Razavi" foundation which has extensive holdings throughout Iran and is estimated to be worth around 700 Million Dollars and has an estimated income of almost 130 Million Dollars a year.   All of these are estimated numbers--the exact numbers are not exactly known since these organizations are beyond the purview of State Control and are only answerable to Khameini.  Tabassi--nominally in Khameini's name and acting as a deputy--oversaw it.     Why Khorasan (now divided into three separate provinces) matters is that the biggest city, Mashad, is where the tomb of the 8th Shiite Imam, Reza, is located and is among the most visited cities despite its' own profound challenges.      Tabbasi was a member of the Assembly of Experts and decided against standing--and whether he survives his illness remains to be seen.    Iran's Official News agency reported on President Rouhani having dispatched his Health Minister to oversee Tabbasi's hospitalization and had given apparent appropriate direction to that effect.    It is one of the number of stories we would be assessing as we continue to assess the aftermath of what is clearly a pivotal change election within Iran.

Beyond Iran, there is the US Elections.   The South Carolina Democratic Primary was held and the apparent South Carolina "Firewall" Hillary Clinton counted on held as she had a decisive victory thanks in large part to the major African American support she had.     She spoke after the election and underscored how the campaign will be going "national" as Super Tuesday Looms:

In the meantime, the GOP fight is continuing.      Two sitting governors have come out in support of Donald Trump:  Chris Christie and Paul Le Page.       There are also reports that the US Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell, is authorizing members of his caucus up for re-election (some 24 of them) to go against Trump in order to make sure that they are not engulfed as the Trump juggernaut continues so far with little or not effort by others within the GOP to stop it.      Marco Rubio did finally take the fight to him during the Thursday Night Debate as the nastiness of the back-and-forth was in our view very painful to watch.    This is as    Some interesting stories are starting to make the headlines again as ventures such as Trump University (being sued by the New York Attorney General).     What was even more striking was how two Former Presidents of Mexico have gone after Trump hard as noted in this Guardian article.     We decided not to feature his more "explicit" comments made in an interview with the Fusion's Jose Ramos--but it underscores what the World thinks of Mr. Trump as he continues his ascednancy.     It was also of note how Mr. Trump was adamaent about attempts to have the New York Times and the Washington Post "Pay" for "hit stories" on him--some of them being reported right now as they are stepping up scrutiny of his business dealings over the years as he called the Media "terrible".

As we assessed what the thinking was on Trump, two excerpts of two leading Conservative luminaries especially was striking that is critical :  Erick Erickson and Jonah Goldberg.    Erick Erickson's Column in his Daily "Resurgent" was especially striking:

I Will Not Vote For Donald Trump. Ever.

When I wrote in National Review that I was against Donald Trump, I said and have maintained since his entry into the race that if Donald Trump is the Republican nominee, I would support him. No longer. Donald Trump has had no "road to Damascus" conversion. He only wants to date the preacher's daughter. Once he's gotten in her ballot box, he'll be back to his pro-abortion New York values self.

& as for Jonah Goldberg from the National Review:

The thing I don’t find amusing is that he’s an insecure bully. He really does strike me as Biff from Back to the Future (Part II). His cheap macho posturing and boasting is simply tacky. I see him as a sad and insecure man. And what I truly find so depressing is that millions of Americans see the same blowhard overcompensation and mistake it for strength.

Beyond the shores of America, we have also been keeping an eye on the BRICS Countries.  We had been assessing the state of the "NASIIM" Countries (that we have deemed as our up and comers) as well.    South Africa has been one of the members of the so-called "BRICS" which was touted as the alternative to the G8 for the longest time.     South Africa has been embroiled in a profound struggle for the longest time as Jacob Zuma is engulfed in a corruption scandal and as he tries to figure out who is going to replace him.   Recent rioting throughout the country has been of profound concern as the opposition continues to gather strength daily.     However, one ray of hope that we saw was the Budget present by the Finance Minister that drew general praise from all quarters.    This was reported recently on the actual budget numbers:

Deloitte Quick Tax Guide – SA National Budget Speech 2016/17 (Feb 2016)

Brazil has been on the brink due to the on-going economic and political paralysis.   The advent of Zika has not helped at all especially as the Rio 2016 looms large.    Russia has been continually flexing its' muscle as the Economy continues to be challenged by the price of Oil.    China's slowdown and continue social challenges is of continued concerns as exemplified by recent crackdown on activists as the President continues to advocate the "Party First" philosophy.      Our team has continued its' "China Watch" hashtag as it assesses what the thinking of Official China is.    One interesting report was how the People's Bank of China Governor was optimistic that tools were available to navigate.   One very interesting development was the issuance of an APP by the State Council (China's Cabinet).

The only relative bright spot has been India (one of the two "I"s in our "NASIIM" countries that stands for rays of hope).     The economy has been growing and the Prime Minister,  Narendra Modi, seems to be popular.     As we went to press here, he was on his "Maan Ki Baat" (the equivalent of the Fire Chat) in order to help fashion the debate in the aftermath of the controversies with student deaths and with the rioting in the State of Haryana that resulted in water being cut off to the capital, New Delhi.

It has been quite  a week-and quite a month.       What March will bring will as always be interesting and enlightening....

The Friday Musical Interlude: Kings of Convenience w/Misread!!!

It has been admittedly a challenging week here in #Outsiders.   However as we are "back in operation", we wanted to begin by featuring this selection from our artist of the week, Kings of Convenience as we wish all a fabulous Friday and a fabulous Week-End (and if you have not gotten a flu shot yet, we urge you all to do so!!!)

Notations On Our World (Special Edition): #Iran Votes

Elections have begun in Iran to vote for the Parliament and the Assembly of Experts.     The Supreme Leader (or what we like to refer to as the Supreme Guide) has cast his vote at his own personal voting booth in Tehran:

رهبر معظم انقلاب رای خود را به صندوق انداختند

As we await the results, the Islamic News Agency released an infographic on the turnout--although in Farsi--it is interesting to note how after a dip in turnout, it has seen an increase.   It will be interesting to see what the turnout is going to be:

The results should be available by tomorrow.   Please watch this space.

Notations On Our World : On #Nevada; @realDonaldTrump & Other Thoughts

It has quite a whirlwind on the political front as Donald Trump blew away the competition in Nevada.   This is as the remaining candidates are due to be on the stage again at another debate on the eve of the Texas Primary.    What was striking was the comment by Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona when he noted in the aftermath of Nevada, "...I am scared".

As we worked to get caught on the latest, we could not help but take note of this published by the noted GOP Campaign strategist Stuart Stevens as It is telling in laying out a roadmap on how Trump can be beaten.   The discussions on Morning Joe yesterday on some of the interesting background on Trump University and the most recent article on his business dealings is also quite telling:

BY STUART STEVENS
The Republican frontrunner is anything but unstoppable—assuming one of the other candidates decides to finally knock him out.

Notations On Our World: As the Elections Get Going in #Iran

The Elections have begun in Iran for Parliament and the Assembly of Experts.     The so-called reformist faction in the Country has announced its' list.  Our team found it of interest as former President Khatami's Image was reflected here.    This list (in Farsi), reflects the endorsed list by the reformists for the Capital, Tehran along with the endorsed list for the Assembly of Experts (in Farsi referred to as "Khobergan Rahbari) that is responsible for choosing the next Supreme Leader (Supreme Guide For the Revolution).

Thomas Erdrink's New York Times' Column This morning laid out the profound challenge faced by the so-called reformist faction in lowering expectations.    Their main objective is to thwart the so-called principalists (hard liners) from gaining the upper hand.      All the reformists who are left standing are calling for a massive participation--Dr. Aref, the Former Vice President and leader of the reformist faction vying to be elected to Parliament underscored his love for the revolution during the weekend rally in Tehran:

It will fascinating to see whether the reformists can pull it off not withstanding all that has been done to block their efforts as Khameini came out forcefully last week noting that folks who were criticizing the Guardian Council must stop.

Notations On Our World (Sunday Special Edition): Quite a day On Our World re #Brexit; #Syria & @realDonaldTrump

London Mayor Boris Johnson delivers a statement to the media regarding his position on the forthcoming EU referendum.
London Mayor & MP Boris Johnson
Britain will vote in June on whether it wishes to stay in the European Union after the European Union and David Cameron agreed on a deal.   As we went to press, a prominent Conservative Politician has come out against Britain staying in the European Union:  Boris Johnson, The Mayor of London and probable successor to David Cameron.   We will be assessing the campaign in our #Europe watch over the ensuing days.

We have also been assessing Syria on a daily basis as we reviewed reports of another horrific attack on a Shiite shrine in Damascus.    The public stance by Iran has been that it deployed troops to protect the shrine.    We will not be surprised if there are Iranians who are among the dead as we periodically see reports of funerals on-going daily in Iran.    Russia's Defense Minister has also been on a visit to Tehran to discuss the war in Syria.   So far, it seems Russia is on the ascendency.   Haaretz featured a front page image as Syrian Government troops took over the Aleppo Power Plant on the outskirts of the City.    Refugees are on the move as the relentless bombing campaign by Russia continues.  Our team is seeing a live report by SkyNews with the aftermath of one bombing with this exclusive from Alex Rossi:

A young suvivor is pulled from the rubble in Aleppo

More than 11 Million Syrians are now refugees.

We have also been assessing the continued aftermath of the Presidential Campaign in the United States. The sampling our team reviewed this morning as outlined below is telling as the field has narrowed with this from Erik Erickson's The Resurgent:

It Becomes Rubio’s Race To Lose

After New Hampshire I wrote, “Each day that ticks by in South Carolina without Marco Rubio gaining ground is a day that Trump

Donald Trump is saying that he is not taking the nomination for granted.    But not withstanding Erik Erickson's admonition, It is Trump's to lose as of now based on the momentum so far.

What was so startling to us as we asssessed the state of the Campaign was this realistic and hard hitting analysis from the Harretz' Chemi Shalev.    Harrettz is known as a "Liberal" paper in Israel--however the reality check laid out by Chemi Shalvel should give anyone a moment of pause.   We appreciate our founder giving us a heads-up on this as we went to press with this special edition of "Notations".  It is available by clicking on this link for all to review.

Notations On Our World: On the US Presidential Campaign (The Day After Nevada & South Carolina)

It has been quite an evening as we reported on the results of the Nevada Caucus.    As the Clinton Campaign sent out its' "thank you's",  organizations supporting the Sanders Campaign sent out calls to action (including MoveOn.Org network and the Democracy for America Network) to ask for donations to his campaign as a build up to Super Tuesday:

The final results are in from Nevada and it looks like we're going to leave another state with roughly the same number of delegates as Hillary Clinton, maybe down just a few.

I want to be completely clear with you about what this result means: Nevada was supposed to be a state "tailor made" for the Clinton campaign, and a place she once led by almost 40 points. But today, we sent a message that will stun the political and financial establishment of this country: our campaign can win anywhere.

There are 26 primaries and caucuses in the next month, and three straight positive results for our campaign are sure to prompt an over-the-top response from the millionaires and billionaires who want to stop our campaign to transform America.

We have to be prepared for their best shot, because it’s coming:

We’re closing the gap dramatically in states that have yet to vote, and there’s a path to victory for our political revolution. If we continue to stand together, we’ll continue to win.

In solidarity,

Bernie Sanders

What is quite startling is what happened in South Carolina as Donald Trump won and won convincingly with over 32% of the votes cast.    Marco Rubio has come in a close second to Ted Cruz and the following went out from Rubio Campaign on donations (with personalized links):

Marco Rubio

After the results in New Hampshire, the media and Marco's opponents wrote our campaign off.

They said Marco had no chance, that he wasn't angry enough, that Americans weren't buying into his positive vision, that Republicans didn't want a nominee who could speak to all Americans.

Well, tonight in South Carolina we proved them wrong.

But   this fight is just beginning. Marco's taking nothing for granted in this election. We are now in a three-man race for the nomination, but that's going to be a long, tough battle.

Marco's opponents both have millions upon millions of dollars that they've shown they'd be happy to use to mudsling. In order to fight back, it's going to take all hands on deck.

We put together personalized links just for you, to make a special donation on this historic night.
This is as Jeb Bush dropped out of the Presidential Race.    Our team first noted the difficulties a number of days ago as reports began to surface that  the Campaign was running out of cash.   Governor Kasich is also another one that is hanging out and is making a case for Super Tuesday.      It was startling how he started with $ 100 Million Dollars and rolled out his Mother and Brother--however it just did not catch on.   What we found startling was how the Rubio Campaign characterized the second place finish.

It will be an interesting few weeks.......
