As the New Work Week Begins: Notations & a "Thought 4 the Week"

A new day begins and a new week begins as well.

I was out and about yesterday in town and saw one of the old-time "sign people" that I had periodically written about during a series I did for the "Liberal OC".   It reminded me of how I had to count my blessings day in and day out no matter what the challenges are.  It is how one deals with the challenges on a day in and day out basis.

This week will be an interesting week in one respect.    Al Jazeera America officially begins on August 20.   The "media establishment" has been on the prowl to note how they are biased and how the "World" seems to be against them.   I was particuarly amused by some commentator from the Huffington Post asserting about the "neutrality" of Al Jazeera when in fact HuffPost's very existence was predicated upon a counter-weight to the rise of the so-called conservative media in the United States which ultimately prompted MSNBC to switch as they did.     The so-called mainstream media (and that includes Fox) needs to be very afraid because their existing format leaves a lot to be desired.   What they are suffering from is what Da Vinci warned against over 600 years ago:

Iron rusts from disuse; stagnant water loses its purity and in cold weather becomes frozen; even so does inaction sap the vigor of the mind.

Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519)
Italian painter, sculptor, and inventor

The challenge is not be stagnant and be ever more vibrant.  It is a challenge that all must live up to in their lives and what "Outsiders" is attempting.    "Hopefully" it will work to make a difference because Jospeh Addision was so right when he noted:

If you wish success in life, make  perseverance your bosom friend,  experience your wise

counselor,  caution your elder brother and hope  your guardian genius.

Onward & Upward :-)
