As Election Day Arrives in the US.......

As it stands now, the verdict by the pundits is still open. Erick Erickson, the Red State Editor, has noted that the Election is Romney's to lose. Yet, Nate Silver of the New York Times is giving the President a 79% chance winning with 300 Electoral Votes. But, his actual analysis of it is a bit more somber when his most up to date commentary is read which I have noted in the link for reference:

I have noted that the election is President Obama's to lose. I view it as ever more so in light of the past few days as he has dealt with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Not withstanding my own views, what is absolutely vital is that everyone votes. People have given up their lives to fight for this right. People are in prison for having had the courage to speak up for that right. I am specifically thinking of the Sakharov Prize Winners: Nasrin Soutodeh and Jaffar Panahi of Iran who have been either in prison or under house arrest since the advent of the Green Revolution.   This beautiful tribute was done for Nasrin as she lingers on in Prison:

I am also remembering Iran's Green Movement Leaders, Mir Hossein Moussavi and Mehdi Karoubi who continue to endure house arrest.

I look forward to the post-election analysis and assessment on November 7.
