Another Interesting Week!!!

Well, the world seems to be as dangerous as ever. We have got less than thirty days left before we in the United States go to the polls to determine whether the Republicans will keep control of Congress or not. Not withstanding the apparent good news on the economy, it seems increasingly likely that the Democrats will take control. Although the Democrats will by a high probablity not get the governorship in California. It will be interesting.

I was out at the annual Miramar Air Show. The first time I went to that Airshow was over 20 years ago. Things have changed aroud what is now known as MCAS Miramar. But, the base itself has not changed. The only thing that has changed is the technology and a bit more sophisitication by the vendors. It was a fun day, but also a reminder of how dangerous a world we live in.

There is also another interesting development on how two of the Senate's leading Republicans, John Warner and Chuck Hagel, are continuing to distance themselves from the disastrous policy in Iraq. Hopefully, the Congress will wake up and live up to the responsiblity as envisionsed in the Constitution to be a co-equal branch, not subservient to the Executive. Time will tell...

Onward to the new week...

:)

(See I'm still optimistic despite it all..)
